Here is cleaned up version of Yamaha OC-01 schematic diagram. Yamaha OC-01 Octaver is an analog octave pedal manufactured in Japan during the early 1980s as part of Yamaha’s 01-series which includes flanger, phase, distortion and other fx.
This pedal has one feature I have not seen in other octaver effects: it has a polarity A/B switch) which inverts the phase of the input signal before it reaches the tracking circuit. This is supposed to optimize pitch tracking for different types of pickups and instruments although I have not heard any change in the sound.
Power supply: 9 V battery is practically the only option (or supply via 9 V battery clip adapter) because there is no standard DC jack. However, I have added modern DC jack in this pedal series and it’s possible for this pedal, too. Check my other blog posts if interested …
